About BYP100: BYP100 is a national, member-based organization of Black 18 to 35-year-old activists and organizers, dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people. • In collaboration with the Director of Finance & Operations, lead financial management, compliance, and risk care with integrity to ensure resources are stewarded responsibly and transparently.
  • Strengthen governance for the c3 Board of Directors by clarifying roles, fostering shared accountability, supporting board recruitment efforts.
  • Make financial and compliance practices transparent and accessible, empowering staff, members, and board members to engage with clarity.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You Believe In BYP100’s Mission – building a member-based organization of Black 18-35 year old activists and organizers dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people.
  • You Center a Black Queer Feminist Lens. You recognize that oppressions are interconnected, center the leadership and wisdom of those most marginalized, and work to redistribute power, embed collective care, and transform systems toward freedom, dignity, and joy.
  • Resource Mobilization & Fundraising Strategy. You understand that resourcing the work is a critical part of building collective power. You bring strategic clarity and confidence to fundraising, budgeting, and stewardship. You nurture relationships with funders and donors rooted in alignment and trust, and you ensure that resources flow in ways that are values-driven, sustainable, and fuel long-term impact.
  • You Guide Teams Through Change. You guide teams through moments of transition and crisis with clarity, transparency, care, and conviction. You name what’s shifting, create space for processing, and help people move forward with purpose. With strong project management skills, you translate big-picture strategy into clear plans, milestones, and accountabilities, ensuring that teams stay aligned and progress steadily through change.
  • You Are A Strategic Thinker With An Organizer’s Mindset. You approach operations and internal strategy with an organizer mindset and are invested in your own ongoing political learning and growth—centering people, relationships, and shared decision-making.
  • You Bring Conflict Resolution Expertise. You approach conflict with humility and care, creating space for honest dialogue and collective accountability. You apply a transformative justice lens to repair harm and build trust, helping staff, members, and boards move through conflict in ways that strengthen relationships and shared purpose.
  • You Manage, Coach, & Empower Leaders. You empower, activate, and support the individuals you manage using an asset-based framework. You listen actively and make others feel seen and heard,  fostering authentic, collaborative relationships within a small remote team. You assess talent needs and identify gaps, ensuring people are placed in roles where they thrive and perform at their best.
  • You Have Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills. You communicate with clarity and  humility across diverse audiences, from members and staff to boards, funders, and external partners. You are able to adapt your message to different contexts, ensuring people feel informed, connected, and inspired to act.
  • You Are a Systems Thinker and Knowledge Steward. You design and codify organizational systems (i.e., for nonprofits) that make knowledge accessible and sustainable — not dependent on any one person. You document institutional memory, clarify workflows, and build processes that support long-term staff learning and development.
